That's how hot it was in Ridgecrest today. It may have been hotter. The prediction was for 114, and I kept rechecking the NOAA website for "current conditions," but the highest number I saw was 111. Of course, I saw that number twice, once in the early afternoon and once in the later afternoon, so you can kind of guess what happened in between...
Rocket Boy and I agree that we're already forgetting about the dusty little town where we spent four years, but I have noticed that I check on Ridgecrest's weather quite a bit.
The heat, oh the heat. The baking, roasting, sizzling dry heat. Air conditioners and swamp coolers roaring away 24/7, and it's still too hot to move. Waiting all day and into the evening for the temperature to drop below 100. It is below 100 now, at 10 pm. In Furnace Creek (Death Valley), it's still over 110.
I used to pack the twins in the car and drive the highways, just so I could blast the air conditioning.
That's the part I can't forget.
